Gas valve with an actuating device for an electric switch

The valve (1) has an actuating shaft (30) rotatable around a longitudinal axis for adjusting opening cross-section of the valve. The shaft is displaceable in an axial direction for actuating an electrical switch (31), and an actuating element (32) acts on a switching element e.g. actuating lever (311), of the switch based on an axial position of the shaft. The actuating element has a shape differing from rotational symmetric shape at its outer edge and an actuating projection (321) outwardly extending in a radial direction.
