PURPOSE: A semiconductor light emitting device which includes an electrode pattern is provided to improve current spreading to a horizontal direction by uniformly maintaining constant resistance with the second conductive layer of a second conductive type electrode. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor light emitting device comprises a conductive board, a light emitting structure, and the second conductive type electrode. The light emitting structure is formed on the conductive board and comprises a first conductive type semiconductor layer, an active layer, and a second conductive type semiconductor layer. The second conductive type electrode comprises a pad(151), a finger(152), and an insulation pattern(151b). The pad is formed on the second conductive type semiconductor layer. The finger is extended from the pad. The insulation pattern is located in a part between the pad and the second conductive type semiconductor layer so that the surface in which the pad and the second conductive type semiconductor layer are contacted is reduced.
