PURPOSE: An electric bicycle is provided to obtain energy from a brake unit when a bicycle brakes through gradual switching to a generating position and a brake position. CONSTITUTION: An electric bicycle comprises a disc rotor(22), and a brake unit. The disc rotor rotates corresponding to the movement of a wheel. The brake unit brakes the rotation of the disc rotor. The brake unit comprises a rotating wheel, a generator, and a spindle. The rotating wheel is switched to a generating position making contact with the disc rotor and a non-generating position separated from the disc rotor. The rotating wheel rotates with the disc rotor in the generating position. The generator is connected to the rotating wheel and generates electricity by the rotation of the rotating wheel.
