FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in butt electric resistance welding of, for example, wire in wire drawing in wire bundle integration units. Ends of welded parts are transferred to electrodes fixed at stationary and movable foundations of welding machine. Said parts are placed coaxially between electrodes with no gap between their faces. Centering device with two tabs is arranged between foundations to center both ends simultaneously by turning both said tabs. Ends are clamped in said electrodes to move rotary grinding wheel along welding axis between centering devices tabs. Both end faces of parts are cut off in single pass to withdraw grinding wheel from cutting zone. Centering device is mobbed into initial position to squeeze end faces by compression drive. Welding transformer is switched on to weld ends together. ^ EFFECT: high quality of weld joints. ^ 3 dwg
