Therapeutic compositions comprising ingenol angelate

Disclosed is a formulation of ingenol angelate for use in therapy, wherein the ingenol angelate has been dissolved in a pharmaceutically acceptable, aprotic solvent, said formulation further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable acidifying agent which is at least partially compatible with the solvent and which provides the formulation with an apparent pH of no greater than 4.5 and no less than 2.5. Also disclosed is the formulation suitable for topical administration. Further disclosed is the use of a formulation of ingenol angelate in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of a skin cancer. Also disclosed is a process for preparing a formulation of ingenol angelate.
