Coated multilayer oral dosage forms of naltrexone hydrochloride

Disclosed is an oral dosage form which comprises a plurality of multi-layer pellets which contain: a) a water-soluble core; b) an antagonist containing layer comprising naltrexone hydrochloride coating the core; c) a sequestering polymer layer coating the antagonist containing layer (such as copolymers of acrylic and methacrylic acid esters with quaternary ammonium groups); and d) an osmotic pressure regulating agent layer which comprises sodium chloride and which forms a coating over said sequestering polymer layer. Further disclosed is an oral dosage form which further comprises an opioid agonist such as morphine or oxycodone.
