<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel whose discharge voltage is low and which has a superior life characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: CeO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and SrCO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>powder are mixed. The mixed powder is baked, is filled into a metallic mold, and is pressure-molded to obtain a molded body. Here, a pressure of the pressure molding is set so that a bulk density of the pressure-molded body becomes 65% or higher of a true density. The molded body after the pressure molding is baked again and EB deposition is carried out by setting the baked molded body as a target material, thereby forming a protective layer 7. The formed protective layer 7 is an oxide of a fluorite structure comprised of Ce, Sr, and O and has a (100) plane orientation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
