<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which, in the case of the deteriorated status of data reading on one recording layer caused due to scratches or grime on the layer, automatically shifts to reading data recorded on the other recording layer and continues to play the data. <P>SOLUTION: An optical disk device includes: a disk detecting means 281, 284 and 285 to detect whether or not an inserted disk is a hybrid disk 10 containing multiple recording layers; a data reading means 21, 22, 27 and 29 to read data recorded on a recording layer 12 when the inserted disk is detected to be a hybrid disk 10; a data reading status detecting means 283 to detect whether or not the status of data reading on the recording layer 12 is good; and a shift means 282, 284, 285, 286 and 287 to control the data reading means 21, 22, 27 and 29 and make them read data recorded on the other recording layer 14 when the deterioration of data reading status on the recording layer 12 is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
