<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an old mail address to be changed appropriately by preventing spoofing by a third person who pretends to change of a mail address, where the prevention is performed by making the mail address not to be changed without utilizing the old mail address. <P>SOLUTION: A portable telephone 10 has an e-mail function and an address book function. And an RAM 34 in the portable telephone 10 stores address data including an old mail address. For example when an e-mail requiring change of address in which a subject is "change request" and the old address and a new address are written in the body is received, a processor 24 determines whether change operation of the mail address is accepted. When the change operation is accepted, the processor 24 sends a confirmation mail of which destination is the old mail address.
