The present invention discloses a stand-by method for Access Point and an Access Point (AP). The method includes that: an AP obtains a stand-by indication signal (201); the AP detects the number of the legal clients connecting to the AP during the preset time period according to the stand-by indication signal (202); if the detected number of the legal clients is zero, the AP stops sending the beacons broadcast seal packet (203). The AP includes an obtaining module, a detecting module and a stand-by module. The method provided by the present invention, effectively saves the electric power, reduces the radiation emitted by the AP to the human, and decreases the possibility that the private network is broken and intruded. |
