<p>The present invention relates to a touch screen device for the visually impaired and to a method for providing a user interface therefor. The touch screen device includes: a touch input unit having a predetermined number of grids, each grid having a touch position at which an object is displayed; a contact-sensing unit generating a sensed-contact signal including position information for a contacted touch position when a user contacting a touch position is sensed; an output information determining unit determining whether to continuously move to another adjacent touch position without the release of contact or to execute one touch on the basis of the sensed-contact signal from the contact-sensing unit, and requesting an object corresponding to each touch position to be outputted as audio or to be executed according to the determination result; an audio-synthesis processing unit converting a corresponding object into audio data according to an audio output request from the output information determining unit, to output the audio data as audio; and an object-executing unit executing a corresponding object according to an object execution request from the output information determining unit. Thus, according to the present intention, when a visually impaired person uses a full-touch information-processing device, the position and direction of an object displayed on the screen are recognized, such that the object may be manipulated as the person desires.</p> |
