<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of reducing data transfer between a network processor and a packet buffer. <P>SOLUTION: A FIFO 24 stores multicast packet data. When a writing command of the multicast packet data is received from a network processor, a determination circuit 22 stores the multicast packet data received from the network processor to the FIFO 24, and writes the multicast packet data into a corresponding queue in a memory 11. In addition, when a copy command of the multicast packet data is received from the network processor, the determination circuit 22 copies the multicast packet data stored in the FIFO 24 to the corresponding queue in the memory.
