<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a following problem: in a conventional hand drying device, when a room is dark and an inside of a drying chamber has a poor light, a user has hesitancy or feels incompatibility or discomfort when the user inserts its hand into the drying chamber. <P>SOLUTION: The hand drying device includes: a high pressure air-flow generator 1 that generates high pressure air-flow; the drying chamber 2 that dries a wet hand by high speed jet flow;an illumination lamp 9 illuminates the inside of the drying chamber 2; and an illumination control 7 that automatically controls the illumination lamp 9. Specially, with a dark surrounding, the illumination lamp 9 automatically lights up when used and illuminates the inside of the drying chamber 2.
