<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy and reliable direct measurement between two points on a remote operation object by mechanically and directly touching the two points. <P>SOLUTION: A remote measurement apparatus includes a remote measurement rod 2 having a contact element 1 fixed thereto, which extends from a measurement operation area A of the operator C to one measuring end B1 of a remote measurement object B, and a remote measurement rod 4 having a contact element 3 fixed thereto, which extends from the measurement operation area A to the other measuring end B2 of the measurement object B which is located at a location which is directly touched hardly by an operator C. Length and/or distance S2 between the measuring ends B1 and B2 are measured at a remote position based on a known ratio between a length L1 from a cross point 5, which is set at a point closer to measuring operation points 2a and 4a of the remote measurement rods 2 and 4, to the contact elements 1 and 3 and a length L1 from the cross point 5 to the measuring operation points 2a and 2b, and a distance value S1 between the measuring operation points 2a and 2b obtained at the measurement operation area A of the remote measurement rods 2 and 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
