<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die sinking electric discharge machining device capable of suppressing curving of an electrode and forming a thin hole with desired depth when the thin hole is formed using the linear electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The die sinking electric discharge machining device 1 includes: the linear electrode 50 having a longitudinal direction n; and a head 40 for supporting one end part of the electrode 50 and applies a voltage to a space between a workpiece W positioned at an electrode end part 55 side and the device 1. A periphery in the longitudinal direction n of the electrode 50 exposed from the head 40 is covered by a cylindrical protection member 60, and flexural rigidity of the protection member 60 is larger than that of the electrode 50.
