<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a transfer error of recording data occurs when a recording data signal is transferred at a high speed or a transmission line becomes longer, resulting in that recording of images cannot be carried out normally or that a quality of recording images degrades, and consequently bringing about the need for control of recording in real time by detecting a transfer error of the recording data signal. <P>SOLUTION: An element substrate includes an error detecting circuit which detects the transfer error of the recording data signal. A transfer error result is output by timing at which the recording data signal of one recording period is latched.
