<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost apparatus for cleaning water under high pressure, in which water can be cleaned continuously over a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The inside of a water cleaning tank 22, which is filled with spring water when filtration operation is started, is divided into continuous chambers 221-223 by filters 221A, 221B different in filtration accuracy. A liquid cyclone 226 having both opened ends is housed in the uppermost-stream chamber 221. A primary filtrate W2 of low pressure is supplied into the liquid cyclone 226, a high-pressure jet water current W4 containing bubbles of ozone gas A having sterilizing action is jetted into the liquid cyclone 226 in the inner peripheral direction and an overflow F1 containing foreign matter having low specific gravity is made to overflow the water cleaning tank 22 and discharged to a drain line 224. The high-pressure jet water current W4 containing bubbles of ozone gas A is also jetted toward the upstream surfaces of filters 225A, 225B to remove cake on the filters 225A, 225B.
