<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift register that has an embedded type bidirectional scan capability. <P>SOLUTION: The shift register according to the present invention includes a plurality of circuit stages electrically connected in series each other. Each circuit stage includes a first thin film transistor and a second thin film transistor. The first thin film transistor has a gate electrically connected to an output node of a preceding contiguous circuit stage, and a drain electrically connected to a booster point of the circuit stage, and a source arranged to receive one of a first control signal and a second control signal.
