An apparatus for processing an image by readjusting motion information is provided to apply weight to the motion information of a neighboring sub region and the motion information of a pixel in consideration of a distance between the pixel and the neighboring sub region and extract new motion information, thereby minimizing side effects generated in a boundary between sub regions. A motion information detector(100) detects first to Nth motion information corresponding to a difference value between the previous frame and the current frame for each of first to Nth sub regions of an image frame. A motion information buffer(110) stores the first to Nth motion information. A deblocking filter(120) filters the distortion of the block boundary of the current frame and outputs each of pixel values of the current frame and the location information of each pixel. A motion information adjustment unit(130) adjusts Kth motion information about a Kth server region according to the distance between an arbitrary pixel in a Kth sub region of the first to Nth sub regions and sub regions adjacent to the Kth sub region by using the first to Nth motion information provided from the motion information buffer and the location information of the each pixel provided from the deblocking filter. A motion information applying unit(140) applies readjustment motion information about the Kth sub region adjusted in the motion information adjustment unit to the pixel value of the arbitrary pixel in the pixel values provided from the deblocking filter. |
