摘要 <p>Provided is an optimum configuration of an inner shim and an outer shim which are interposed between pistons and a back plate of a brake pad. The back plate (41) is biased inward, by a leaf spring (81), in the radial direction of a rotor. On a V-shaped inner peripheral side torque bearing surface (41a), the back plate (41) engages, at two places, with an inner peripheral support shaft (61) provided in a caliper (20). On an outer peripheral side torque bearing surface (41b), the back plate (41) engages, at one place, with an outer peripheral support shaft (72) provided in the caliper (20). Between the back plate (41) and the pistons (31, 32), there are interposed an inner shim (ISa) which is disposed on the back plate side, and an outer shim (ISb) which is disposed on the piston side. The coefficient of friction between the back plate and the inner shim and the coefficient of friction between the pistons and the outer shim are set to be larger than the coefficient of friction between the inner shim and the outer shim. With respect to the back plate, the inner shim (ISa) is capable of integrally moving in the radial direction and the circumferential direction of the rotor, and is capable of relative rotation in the axial direction of the rotor. With respect to the back plate, the outer shim (ISb) is capable of integrally moving in the radial direction and the circumferential direction of the rotor, is capable of relative rotation in the axial direction of the rotor, and is capable of rotating about the axis of the inner peripheral support shaft (61) by a predetermined amount.</p>
