<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal module capable, in spite of having a built-in edge radiation type back light unit, of dividing the display face of a liquid crystal panel into a plurality of areas longitudinally and transversely and controlling the luminance of each individual area. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal module provided with an edge radiation type back light unit BLU disposed inside a rear frame and a liquid crystal panel on the front side thereof has a configuration in which a light guiding plate 3 of the back light unit BLU is divided longitudinally and transversely and an LED light source 4a of an LED bar 4 is disposed along one side face of each of resultant light guiding plate divided segments 3a. By controlling the light emission intensity of the LED light source 4a for each individual light guiding plate divided segment 3a and controlling the intensity of the outgoing beam for each individual light guiding plate divided segment 3a, the display face of the liquid crystal panel is enabled to be divided into a plurality of areas longitudinally and transversely each matching one or another of the light guiding plate divided segments 3a and the luminance of each area to be individually controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
