<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter capable of suppressing impacts of engagement to reduce noise and suppressing wear or reduced service life due to impacts, in a further downsized state. <P>SOLUTION: The engine starter includes an overrunning clutch (31) coupled through a spline to the output shaft side of a starter motor, a pinion (30) sliding in the shaft direction, a shift lever (60) pushing the overrunning clutch and the pinion to the ring gear direction of the engine accompanied with the movement of a plunger, and a stopper (80) stopping the pinion at an engaging position with the ring gear, and further includes a collision relaxing member (33) provided to the pinion so as to relax collisions with the ring gear and with the stopper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
