<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a cylinder head, between which and heat insulating member that is cast in an exhaust port, spaces can be readily formed. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of positioning both ends of an inflatable hollow member to two supposed open portions 11a, 11b for the exhaust port as a core for forming the exhaust ports 11 of the cylinder head 10; a step of placing the hollow member in the mold of the cylinder head 10; a step of teeming melt into the mold and inflating the hollow member; and a cooling step of cooling the melt, contracting the hollow member, and forming the spaces 15 between the outside of the hollow member and the cylinder head 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
