<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce display failure due to defects in a barrier plate by using a simple way, thereby improving the manufacturing yield of a plasma display panel. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a plasma display panel comprises: a front substrate manufacturing step for forming a plurality of display electrode pairs parallel to one another, a dielectric layer and a protective layer, in a front substrate; a rear substrate manufacturing step for forming a plurality of data electrodes parallel to one another, a base dielectric layer, a barrier plate partitioning discharge cells and a phosphor layer in a rear substrate; and a sealing step for sandwiching the barrier plate so as to form a discharge space between the front and rear substrates and sealing the front substrate and the rear substrate which are disposed to face each other. The rear substrate manufacturing step includes: a barrier plate inspection step for inspecting defects in the barrier plate; and a non-lighting step for non-lighting a discharge cell adjacent to a defective part in the barrier plate based on the inspection result in the barrier plate inspection step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
