<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for obtaining a correct map-matching result, regardless of a previous map-matching result. <P>SOLUTION: When a branch road exists anterior to a self vehicle, a distance between a link corresponding to a road on which the vehicle is traveling at present and an absolute estimation position 21 is calculated before a branch point, and the distance is set as a reference off-set. When the self vehicle passes the branch point, absolute estimation positions 22-28 are successively detected every prescribed time, so as to respectively search links to be map-matching candidates, based on the reference off-set, with respect to the respective absolute estimation positions 22-28. When the link A is searched for the prescribed time or more, the link A is set as a map-matching object road.
