<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio base station that selects an appropriate antenna element in accordance with a varying propagation environment and performs directivity control to allow stable communication; and a radio communication method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A radio base station comprises: a received quality information acquisition section 12 for acquiring received quality information indicating the received quality of each antenna of a plurality of antennas at a predetermined interval; a received quality variation tendency recognition section 13 for recognizing the variation tendency of a value regarding the obtained received quality of each antenna; a correlation determination section 14 for determining the degree of correlation between respective antennas based on the recognized variation tendency of the value regarding the received quality at each antenna; and an antenna selection section 7 for selecting at least two or more antennas to be used for radio communication depending on the degree of correlation between the respective antennas, which is determined by the correlation determination section 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
