<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine that improves a cooling effect of the engine by ventilating air and a temperature increase suppressing effect in the engine room by using ventilation air, by efficiently sucking exhaust wind of a generator arranged in an engine room where the engine is housed. <P>SOLUTION: The outboard engine includes an engine cover 15 forming an engine room R where the engine is accommodated, the generator G arranged in the engine room R, and a ventilation device forming a lead-out passage 81 for leading air inside the engine room R out of the engine room R. The ventilation device includes a fan 93 arranged in an exhaust passage 91 continued to the lead-out passage 81 and pumping the air inside the engine room R to the lead-out passage 81.
