<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a vapor concentration while suppressing the variation of an air-fuel ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus detects a first in-cylinder pressure, which is an in-cylinder pressure during a purge processing halt and while the air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion is controlled to be a predetermined air-fuel ratio, and detects a first heating value, which is an in-cylinder one according to the first in-cylinder pressure. The apparatus performs the purge processing at a purge ratio that is less likely to give the fluctuations to the air-fuel ratio control of the internal combustion engine, and detects a second in-cylinder pressure, which is an in-cylinder pressure while the purge processing is being performed and the internal combustion engine is controlled to a predetermined air-fuel ratio. Moreover, the apparatus detects the second heating amount, which is the in-cylinder one according to the second in-cylinder pressure. The apparatus detects a vapor amount according to the difference between the first heating amount and the second heating amount that are detected before and after the purge processing is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
