MULTIMEDIA REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND MENU SCREEN DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface with excellent operability and comfort in a small-sized digital apparatus and the like.

SOLUTION: In a multimedia reproduction device 10, an operation unit 40 obtains an instruction associated with content reproduction through user's operation. A reading unit 44 reads out contents from an external recording medium that is loaded as a data storage area for contents. A storage unit 80 stores data of multiple function icons, which represents types of multiple content reproduction functions, and data of multiple medium icons, which represents types of external recording media. A display processing unit 46 performs processing for menu screen display and content reproduction. A menu control unit 48 generates image data of a menu screen with multiple function icons and multiple medium icons arranged in two-dimensional arrangement according to a user's instruction.
