LIVING SPACE MONITORING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a living space monitoring system which identifies the actual situation of a target while the target's privacy is protected.

SOLUTION: A monitoring system 10 includes a sound sensor device 18 which is installed inside a house 16 (living space), and a microcontroller 18b of the sound sensor device 18 generates a spectrogram simplified in both time and frequency axes direction by processing the signal of sound from a sound sensor 18a. The spectrogram is transmitted from a home gateway 14 to a monitoring server 20 through a network 12. The monitoring server 20 applies multiple filters to the simplified spectrogram to compute score values and identifies the situation of a living space and/or a target on the basis of the score value at each filter.
