APPLYING SESSION SERVICES BASED ON PACKET FLOWS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply specific processing to an exchange of data between processes by employing session services in a networked computing environment.

SOLUTION: Packets sent over the wireless link (28) need to be signaled and tagged to accordingly initiate and employ the session service for the intended packets which comprise the flow (F1-F3). A method for identifying session services and applying the session services to the wireless link (28) includes identifying the packet flow (F1-F3) over the wireless link (28) corresponding to a received message by employing a flow identifier and a transmission profile filter. The packet flow (F1-F3) corresponds to a session, and is mapped to at least one session service (30'). The mapped session service is then applied to the received message.
