<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To induce an operator to perform an appropriate operation when it becomes difficult to detect the insertion direction in a case where an endoscope comes too close to the mucous surface in a colon endoscope examination or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This method for detecting the insertion direction of an endoscope includes a first step for inputting an endoscopic image, a second step for detecting that the endoscope is in a state too close to an observation object, based on the endoscopic image, and a third step for displaying a message such as "Pull Back" based on the detection result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
