<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation communication system, a transmission unit, and a reception unit capable of performing highly accurate insulation communication with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The reception unit 2 is configured to, when receiving a pulse transmitted from a transmission unit 1 to a reception unit 2 through an insulation communication unit 3, convert the received pulse to a digital output signal Out and send the pulse back to the transmission unit 1 through the insulation communication unit 3. The transmission unit 1 includes: an edge pulse generation circuit 6 which generates the pulse corresponding to state transition between a first level L and a second level H of a digital input signal In; and a verification circuit 5 which is configured to be able to receive a pulse from the reception unit 2, determines whether or not the pulse has been sent back from the reception unit 2, and generates an additional pulse if no pulse has been sent back.
