<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorber that is light-weight and compact, has a small exhaust pressure when an exhaust flow rate is high, and has a high sound absorbing effect. <P>SOLUTION: The sound absorber 100 is attached on the way of exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine, and has: an introducing pipe 110 to introduce exhaust gas; an inflating chamber 120 connected to the introducing pipe 110, and having a larger diameter than that of the introducing pipe 110, and punched holes 122 formed therein; a discharging pipe 130 connected to the inflating chamber 120; a casing 140 surrounding the inflating chamber 120; and a sound absorbing material 150 laid between the casing 140 and the inflating chamber 120. A specified interval G is provided while no other structure is located between the introducing pipe 110 and the discharging pipe 130, and the end of the discharging pipe 134 is protruded into the inflating chamber 120 (protrusion 134). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
