<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass analyzing apparatus for acquiring information regarding the mass of sample molecules on a substrate, the mass analyzing apparatus enhancing the sensitivity of detecting sample molecules by capturing protons produced from sample components and matrix without waste and causing the protons to effectively stick to flying neutral sample molecules. <P>SOLUTION: Where the locus of a primary beam is made a primary beam axis, the point at which the primary beam and the surface of a sample on a substrate is made the central point and an axis that passes the central point and extends in the direction of the normal of the substrate is made the central axis, an electrode is arranged in a conically expanding area at an angle of 30 degrees to an axis axially symmetric to the first beam axis with respect to the central axis. With an electric field generated by using this electrode, flying protons are captured by irradiation with the first beam, and the protons are caused to stick to similarly flying neutral sample molecules. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
