<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver provided with an error concealment function for reducing quality deterioration in video and sound. <P>SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver comprises a program 1 receiving unit 102, a program 2 receiving unit 112 and a program information comparing unit 121, and receives at least two programs having the same content. Both a program 1 and a program 2 are decoded and information on a program 2 video decoding unit 114 or a program 2 sound decoding unit 115 is used when an error of a program 1 video decoding unit 104 or a program 1 sound decoding unit 105 is detected. This allows error concealment to be performed without regard to the spatial or temporal correlation of the video and the sound.
