METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REALIZING SCHEDULING MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST MULTICAST SERVICE (MBMS)

A method and system for scheduling Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) are provided. A scheduling condition is set in a scheduling network element. Based on the scheduling condition, the scheduling of the MBMS service is performed for the cell in the MBMS Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) area as target. The present invention realizes the scheduling of the MBMS service for the cell in the MBSFN area as target. When no user in a cell receives the MBMS service, or the number of the users for receiving the MBMS service in a cell is less than the threshold, the transmission of the MBMS service in the cell is closed, thus, the utilization rate of radio resource is improved, and the wasting of the transmitting power is avoided.
