<p>The invention relates to an appliance (1) for detecting neutrons, such as a proportional gas-flow counter, comprising: a housing (2) forming a cathode, filled with a gas and comprising a hollow body (21) having two inner surfaces (23) that are each covered with a solid layer of boron (24); at least one dividing wall (4) forming a cathode, fixed to the housing and extending inside the housing in such a way that it is essentially parallel to the inner surfaces, the or each dividing wall having two opposing surfaces (40) that are each covered with a solid layer of boron (44); a device forming an anode (3), partially extending inside the housing, at least part thereof extending between the dividing wall and one of the inner surfaces of the hollow body (21) and at least one other part thereof extending between the dividing wall (4) and the other inner surface of the hollow body. Said solid layer of boron can consist of boron nanoparticles.</p> |
