<p>A display device is provided with a light source unit which emits light from a light emission surface, and a phosphor layer (120) equipped with a plurality of phosphors (123R, 123G) which absorb the light emitted from the light source unit and then emit fluorescent light of an arbitrary wavelength, disposed so as to correspond with each pixel on the light emission side of the light source unit. The device is further provided with a bottom surface reflection layer (125) which is disposed on at least the light source unit side of the region whereon the phosphors (123R, 123G) are formed in the phosphor layer (120).</p>
