SCREENING METHODS OF ANTIVIRAL AGENTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION AND THE COMPOSITIONS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A composition for screening a material for treating hepatitis type B is provided to screen a material with low cytotoxicity to host cells. CONSTITUTION: A composition for screening a material for treating hepatitis type B contains: a first recombinant expression vector; and a second recombinant expression vector containing interferon beta(IFN beta) promoter and a reporter gene which is operatively linked to the promoter and measure the activation of the IFN beta. The composition contains animal cells with interferon productivity in case of virus infection. A method for screening a material for treating hepatitis type B comprises: a step of performgin transfection of the first and second recombinant expression vectors into animal cells; a step of adding an interferon generation stimulating material to the animal cells; a step of adding candidate materials to the animal cells to measure the activation of the IFN beta promoter; and a step of selecting a candidate material which increases IFN beta promoter activation in case of adding the candidate material.
