A method and a device for load control in wireless communication network are provided by the invention. The method includes the following steps: a Radio Network Controller (RNC) receives a connection request of a Radio Resource Control (RRC) sent by a base station; the RNC obtains flow control grade of the base station; the RNC compares the flow control grade of the base station with a threshold value, then refuses or processes the connection request of the RRC selectively according to the comparison result. In the invention, the RNC processes the RRC connection request of each NodeB differently according to the specific load using status of each NodeB, thus processing flow control differently for each NodeB.
