<p>Disclosed is a liquid-crystal display device (101) which comprises: a first substrate (6); a second substrate (7) spaced apart from the first substrate (6) and facing the first substrate (6); a liquid-crystal layer (8) arranged between the first substrate (6) and the second substrate (7); an auxiliary capacitance electrode (5) formed so as to cover a first region (51) of the surface of the first substrate (6) at the side facing the second substrate (7); and a transparent pixel electrode (3) formed on the surface of the first substrate (6) at the side facing the second substrate (7). At one or more locations, the pixel electrode (3) is provided with unit regions which have a line and slit structure. The line and slit structure comprises a plurality of slits (10) which are provided in mutually parallel lines and a plurality of linear sections (32) which are provided in mutually parallel lines, and each of the plurality of slits (10) and each of the plurality of linear sections (32) mutually repeat. Each of the plurality of slits (10) have a terminal inside the first region (51), intersecting the outer contour of the first region (51) when seen in plan view.</p>
