<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can correctly read identification information from a magnetic pattern formed on a surface of a toner bottle irrespective of a change of a rotational speed of the toner bottle. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 detects magnetism from a magnetic pattern 201 arranged on a surface of a toner bottle 200 by a magnetic sensor 202. In the magnetic pattern 201, a magnetic bar 201a recognized as a reference signal by a CPU 206 according to a result detected by the magnetic sensor 202 and magnetic bars 201b, 201c recognized as an identification signal by the CPU 206 according to a result detected by the magnetic sensor 202 are arranged alternately at an equal interval. The CPU 206 reads identification information by counting the identification signals obtained by the detection result of the magnetic bars 201b, 201c detected after the magnetic bar 201a is detected by the magnetic sensor 202. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
