The crash protecting device has a clamp element (11), which is arranged on a rear side of a vehicle component neighboring to a catch guide rail (10) such that the clamp element is engaged behind a boundary area of the catch guide rail in the closing position of the vehicle component during a crash-limited displacement of the vehicle in the level of the closing position and in the direction of the catch guide rail. The clamp element is formed angularly with two arms (11a,11b).
