PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing polyarylenesulfide resin without using a polymerization aid with no need for controlling water content in the polymerization system, producing a polyarylenesulfide resin having excellent filtration performance at the recollecting of polymer by making the properties of the polyarylenesulfide resin constant. SOLUTION: This method of producing polyarylenesulfide resin comprises reacting an alkali metal sulfide with a dihaloaromatic compound in an organic amide-based solvent, where a polyhaloaromatic compound is added by 0.005 to 1.5 mol% to 1 mol of the alkali metal sulfide, a part of vapor phase in the reactor is condensed by cooling the vapor phase part of the reactor, the condensate is refluxed to liquid phase, and the rate of temperature rising to a reaction temperature is controlled at an average of 0.01 to 1.0 deg.C/min in the temperature range of 180 to 275 deg.C in the reaction system. |
