MULTIFORM SPLICE HOLDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splice holder for controlling a splice connection section between adjacent optical fibers in an optical fiber hardware and an optical fiber device, and housing the splice connection section.

SOLUTION: A splice holder (206a) includes: a base portion (1001); and an array of splice holding partitions (1002) extending from the base portion. The array of the splice holding partitions forms a plurality of rows (1006) and a plurality of columns (1004) for receiving first and second splice components respectively along first and second directions. The pair of the selected splice holding partitions determine a column width and a row width. The column width is sufficiently larger than the row width so as to receive the second splice component not in the case of being directed along one of the plurality of the rows but in the case of being directed along one of the plurality of the columns.
