<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bird damage prevention device that reduces a load imposed on a power line tower and prevents birds perching on a longer stretch of a power line. <P>SOLUTION: Locking ties 11 are fitted to an overhead power line 12 by being wound on the overhead power line 12 so that a tip portion 11a of each of the locking ties 11 projects upward from the over head power line 12. The projection of each of the locking ties 11 has such length that the wing of a bird that is about to perch on the overhead power line 12 comes into contact with the tip portion 11a of each of the locking ties 11. Each of the locking ties 11 is arranged at such a distance from a neighboring locking tie 11 that the wing of a bird that is about to perch on the overhead power line 12 comes into contact with the tip portion 11a of each of the locking ties 11. An anti-bird tape strip 13 is attached to a portion of each of the locking ties 11 that is fitted to the overhead power line 12 so that ends of the anti-bird tape strip 13 hang down from the overhead power line 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
