The present invention relates to a cable-type secondary battery comprising: a current collector having a horizontal cross-sectional surface of a predetermined shape; and electrodes, each of which includes an active material layer formed on the surface of the current collector, and each of which extends in a lengthwise direction, wherein the electrodes are arranged in parallel. The current collector includes: a polymer core portion; and a metal coating layer formed on the surface of the polymer core portion. The above-described cable-type secondary battery uses the polymer current collector which is coated with metal and which is both highly flexible and highly conductive, thus maintaining battery performance and superior flexibility. In addition, the secondary battery of the present invention is lightweight.
