The subject of the invention is the substrate for cultivation of oyster mushrooms, the method of cultivating mycelium of oyster mushrooms and the use of hemp shive in the substrate for cultivation of oyster mushrooms. The substrate for cultivation of oyster mushrooms containing hemp shive enables use of cellular structure of the wood of an annual plant belonging to dicotyledons, its high content of cellulose and lignin, as well as hygienic, antiseptic and repellent properties. This solution also uses extraordinary expansion properties of shive particles, the content of soluble nutritional substances dried in the wood cells, gradually made available to the developing mushrooms' hyphae, stability and thermal buffering properties, as well as very good water-gaseous transition.
