PURPOSE: A valve opening and closing apparatus is provided to improve the reliability of valve opening and closing work by indicating the opening/closing state of a valve. CONSTITUTION: A valve opening and closing apparatus comprises a protection pipe(110), an operation part(120), an adapter(130), a driving part(150), and an indicator(180). The lower part of the protection pipe is installed on the top of a body in order to cover a stem while the upper part is vertically extended from the top of the body. The operation part is arranged on the top of the protection pipe and rotated by an external force. The adapter transmits the torque of the operation part. The driving part increases the torque transmitted from the adaptor and rotates the stem. The indicator is arranged along the operation part, the adapter, and the driving part not to interfere with the operation part, the adapter, and the driving part and connected to the steam in order to show the opening/closing state of the valve.
